Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using this website, our assistant, and our products. Most of it is what you would expect: do not attack it, do not scrape it, and do not use the AI features to make decisions a human should be checking.

Status

Draft — pending legal review. This page describes how the site works today and has not been reviewed by counsel. It is published for transparency, not as a binding legal document, and will be replaced by a reviewed version before launch.

Terms

01

Who this applies to

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using www.accurith.com and Accurith's products and services. It forms part of our Terms of Service and of any customer agreement you have with us. If you use our services on behalf of an organisation, you accept this policy on that organisation's behalf, and “you” includes it.

Two different things are covered here, and it is worth being clear about which is which. This website has no accounts, no logins and no file uploads: nothing you do here processes customer data. The obligations below about data you upload and instructions you give us apply where you have a separate agreement with us for a product or service that works that way.

Where Accurith processes data on your behalf, it does so as a processor on your documented instructions, under that agreement and our Data Processing Agreement.

02

Your responsibility for lawful use and data

You are responsible for your use of our services and for all activity under your account. Where you upload, submit or process any data, including personal data, through our services, you are responsible for:

  • Having the necessary rights, lawful basis and consents to collect, upload and process that data through our services.
  • The accuracy and lawfulness of the instructions you give us.
  • Complying with all laws applicable to your data and its use, including data-protection, privacy, sector-specific and export-control laws.
  • Obtaining any parental consent required before processing children's data, and not putting special-category or sensitive data through our services except where you have a lawful basis to do so.

Allocating these responsibilities to you does not displace our own obligations under data-protection law. Where the law places a duty on Accurith, this policy does not move it.

03

Prohibited uses

You must not use this website, the assistant, or our products and services to:

  • Violate any law or regulation, or infringe anyone's rights — including intellectual property, privacy, publicity and confidentiality rights.
  • Upload, store or transmit unlawful, defamatory, harassing or otherwise harmful content.
  • Upload or transmit malware, or do anything that harms, disables or impairs our services or their security.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our services, to other accounts, or to connected systems.
  • Probe, scan or test the vulnerability of our services, or breach or circumvent security or authentication measures, without our prior written authorisation. If you have found a vulnerability, our Trust page explains how to report it — we would rather hear from you.
  • Scrape, harvest or extract data except as expressly permitted, including for the training of machine-learning models.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code, except to the extent the law permits regardless of this policy.
  • Overload, flood or interfere with our services, including denial-of-service activity.
  • Resell or provide our services to third parties except as expressly permitted.
  • Send unsolicited or unlawful communications through our forms or to addresses obtained from this site.
04

Acceptable use of AI features

Where our services include artificial-intelligence or automation features — including the assistant on this site — you must:

  • Keep a qualified human in the loop, and independently review and verify outputs before relying on them, particularly for decisions that affect individuals.
  • Not represent AI-generated output as professional advice, or as guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
  • Not use AI features to generate unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful content.
  • Not use our services for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals without appropriate safeguards and a lawful basis.

AI output is decision-support. You remain responsible for the decisions you make and the actions you take on the back of it. Our Website Disclaimer says more about what that output is and is not.

05

Security responsibilities

Keep your credentials confidential, use appropriate access controls, and tell us promptly at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised access, security incident or vulnerability affecting our services. Our Trust page sets out how to report a vulnerability, including what we commit to in return.

06

Monitoring and enforcement

To the extent the law permits and consistently with our Privacy Policy, we may monitor use of our services to protect their security, integrity and availability, and to enforce this policy. We do not routinely monitor the content you process, and any monitoring is limited to what is necessary and proportionate.

In practice, on this website today, that means rate limits on the contact and application forms and on the assistant, and server logs. It does not mean reading what you send us for any purpose other than answering it.

If we reasonably believe you have breached this policy, we may investigate and take appropriate action, including warning you, suspending or restricting access, removing content, or terminating access — acting consistently with any customer agreement and service level agreement that applies to you.

07

Reporting violations

To report a suspected violation or abuse of our services, contact [email protected]. To report a security vulnerability, please use the process on our Trust page rather than this address, so that it reaches the right people quickly.

08

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here with a revised last-updated date, or as otherwise provided in your customer agreement.

Open items

Still to be settled.

Listed here rather than answered with a guess — a policy that states a commitment nobody has agreed to is worse than one that admits the gap.

  • Effective date. Not set until counsel signs the text off and the draft banner comes down.
  • Suspension and termination rights, and any notice or cure periods, need to align with the master services agreement and service level agreement. Those are not drafted yet, so this page states the right to act without stating the process.
  • The no-scraping and no-model-training position is a stated position, not a tested one. Counsel to confirm wording and enforceability — this matches the open item already carried on the Terms of Service page.
  • Once products ship with real accounts and uploads, section 2 stops being conditional and this page needs rewriting for a world where customer data actually flows through our systems.
